EBC’s Annual Monarch Butterfly Festival will take place this year at the Bruce Peninsula Provincial Park Visitor Centre on Saturday, August 26th and Sunday, August 27th!
Join EBC, the Bruce Peninsula National Park and the Monarch Teachers Network at this wonderful festival. Learn about the great migration of the Monarch Butterfly and the importance of land conservation in their protection.
EBC will host nature hikes throughout the weekend on our nature reserves in the area. During these hikes, attendees will learn about the geology and ecology of the Bruce Peninsula and why it is such an important place for conservation in Ontario. This year, we will have nature hikes at 11:00 am on both Saturday and Sunday, a bat walk at 8:00 pm on Saturday evening as well as a moth station so you can learn about the diversity of nocturnal moths!
Interested in helping out at the festival? Contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let us know that you are interested in volunteering your time. You can spend a few hours at one of our three booths at the Visitor Centre (EBC’s information booth, Monarch information booth, crafts table), help us capture Monarch Butterflies for demonstrations at the Visitor Centre, and spend the rest of the weekend enjoying the area!
