Liv is our Conservation Projects Manager. She moved from Peru to Canada in 2018 to continue her graduate studies at the University of Toronto. She has trained in Schemes on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD++), and Adaptation to Climate Change and Risk Management in Peru. Liv has 7 years of working experience in environmental impact assessment, and environmental inspections at mining sites. When Liv moved to Canada, she joined the Master of Environmental Science program in 2018, specializing in Biophysical Interactions in Terrestrial and Aquatic Systems. During this program, Liv participated in a Taxonomy field course, and some Climate Change-focused courses. While completing her studies, she worked as an intern at the University of Toronto Scarborough, in the Edible Campus Farm Initiative in 2019. Prior to EBC, Liv has volunteered in the Learning Garden at OISE (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of U of T), which is part of the Environmental Sustainability Education focus.

Liv's role as EBC's conservation coordinator involves conducting research into protected areas and species at risk in Southern Ontario, developing relationships with key stakeholders, including with government, consultants, landowners, and other organizations, developing grant proposals, collaborating in fundraising campaigns, and organizing outreach events and other conservation research work. When Liv is not working, Liv likes watching movies, cooking, painting animals, traveling, swimming in the ocean (or currently lake), climbing, and visiting her family in Peru.
