Volunteer of the month - Sage Jeffrey (October, 2021)

November 1, 2021

(EBC's youngest volunteer yet!)

When prompted with a series of questions, Sage (AKA dad, Andrew), responded with the following:

1) How did you learn about EBC?
Grandpa has been an active member LITERALLY since before I can remember. He’s taken me on lots of the trails and shown me lots of fossils and fun things all over EBC protected areas. I feel so lucky to be able to access these preserved areas!

2) What made you want to volunteer with EBC?
I see how passionate Grandpa is about EBC so I thought - I should really learn more. Once I found out all the important things EBC strives to protect (turtles, fungi, birds), I realized - hey! Those are some of my favourite things and I want them to be around for a long long time!

3) What voluntary activities do you do to help EBC?
Dada and Grandpa and I love making trails that everyone can enjoy and discover what we have been fortunate to experience already. Dada and I have been helping mainly with the properties around where we live in Saugeen Shores but sometimes I go up and help Grandpa on « the island ».

4) What is your educational/career background?
Graduated from the Infant Program at the Learning Academy Daycare last month and just loving the Toddler Program. Really excited about the possibility of Forest School soon and who knows where that will take me.
