Features:
The Miller property is in the Town of Georgian Bluffs south of Mountain Lake and is within the Sauble River/ Hepworth sub-watershed. The Mountain Lake Skinner’s Marsh wetland is a significant feature of this property and Marshes account for a significant amount of the lower portion. The property falls within an area that is designated as a “Significant Groundwater Recharge Area” and a highly vulnerable aquifer according to the assessment report for Grey Sauble Source Protection Area. This property supports a healthy watershed and will continue to contribute to the protection of the natural features that may be enjoyed by the community. The majority of the Miller property is wetland or riparian area around Hepworth Creek, which provides habitat to multiple species at risk like the Black Tern, Snapping Turtles, Northern Map Turtles and rare plants like the Hart’s-tongue Fern.
