Significant Features
There is a small creek which runs through the northeast corner and flows into the Sydenham River just east of the property. There are also some wood duck nest boxes along the stream and some fruit-bearing shrubs as food for wildlife. This nature reserve links the extensive woodlands to the west and the Sydenham Lowlands along the same name river to the east, providing a wildlife travel corridor between them. The recognized forest compartments are Cedar Forest, Deciduous Swamp, Regenerating Field, and Upland Hardwood Forest. It also provides habitat for species such as groundhog, porcupine, white-tailed deer, snowshoe hare, wood ducks, muskrat, etc. The SAR reported are Black Cohosh, Butternut, Bobolink, Eastern Ribbonsnake, Monarch Butterfly, Snapping Turtle.
