This is a 103-acre reserve we received in 2007.
The Farquharson Reserve is within the boundaries of the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere. As such it contains many of the unique features of the escarpment including tributaries of the Nottawasaga Watershed. Species such as the Eastern Meadowlark have been seen on this reserve. The Bruce Trail can be found just over a block west of this reserve. In this area, one can access the Pine River Valley Earth Science natural area and it is not far from the Noisy River Provincial Park.
Starting in Orangeville, follow Highway 10 north to Primrose, just east of Shelburne. Follow signs for Highway 89 which will take you east. Turn north on Airport Road (County Road 18). Turn west onto Dufferin County Road 21. Turn north on 3rd Line and when it takes a sharp turn east, you may pull over on this corner before it deviates and head into the reserve. This is the southeast corner of the reserve.
