Bidwell Bog is a unique reserve that has a rare savannah landscape and a bog. This property has a beautiful hiking trail close to our Cup and Saucer reserve.
This property was donated in two parts. The first, in 2006 followed by one in 2007. We are in the process of acquiring a third piece to expand this reserve further.
The Bidwell Bog has many rare plant species including Swamp Pink, rare cotton grasses and Few Flowered Sedge. If you visit during the right season, orchids can also be found. This reserve has both a bog and a savannah, a rare ecological community at this latitude.
This reserve can be reached from Hwy 540 about 20 metres wets of Little Current. Turn west on the Bidwell Road and look for the trail entry, about 500 metres on the left. Parking can be found at Cup and Saucer. To see this reserve in Google Maps click here.
